Wrights Roofing was proud to be among the sponsors supporting this year’s Second Chance Learning Academy (SCLA) Charity Golf Day, held at Stanton-on-the-Wolds Golf Club. The event raised an impressive £3,500 to help fund vital learning and support for people overcoming setbacks in their lives.
The team at Wrights Roofing sponsored the 10th hole, which was also the “Beat the Pro” challenge – fun and competitive element of the day that drew plenty of attention from the players. The company’s signage was displayed alongside the hole, reinforcing their commitment to community impact and positive change

The event, hosted on a sunny day at the picturesque Stanton course, included a full programme: breakfast, an afternoon shotgun start, exciting competitions across various holes, and a BBQ and prize-giving ceremony to close the day. Guests were treated to a lively and engaging atmosphere, including samosas at the halfway hut and a raffle packed with high-value prizes.
Wrights Roofing joined a host of other generous sponsors supporting SCLA’s mission, which is to empower individuals who’ve been held back by personal circumstances or difficult life events. The funds raised will help provide award-winning learning and tailored one-to-one support, giving people in Nottinghamshire the tools they need to rebuild confidence, improve wellbeing, and create new opportunities for themselves.
“We recognise the potential in people, regardless of their starting point,” said Beverley Burton, Founder and Chair of Trustees at SCLA. “We see the transformative power of our courses and individual support, and the impact this has in the achievements of our learners”.
Last year alone, SCLA supported over 600 people to improve their personal, social, health, learning, and economic wellbeing. The £3,500 raised at the golf day will directly fund more of this tailored support, opening new doors for those who deserve a second chance at success.
Wrights Roofing is proud to support organisations that align with its values of community support and opportunity for all. This partnership with SCLA reflects a wider commitment to giving back and investing in people.
“As a company, we care about more than just roofs,” said Jane Wright, Company Secetary for Wrights Roofing. “We’re proud to play a small part in something that has a big impact on people’s lives.”
