Students Gain Valuable Experience at Wrights Roofing

Wrights Roofing recently welcomed two enthusiastic students for a week of work experience, offering them a valuable glimpse into real-world working environments. The placements provided a chance to explore potential career paths and gain practical skills, both in the office and on site.

Abigail Builds Skills in Finance and Stock Control

Abigail Hart, from Park View Academy, chose to spend her placement within the administration side of the business. With a keen interest in finance and a future career in accounts, she was drawn to Wrights Roofing after hearing positive recommendations from her teachers.

“I chose Wrights Roofing for my work experience because it had been highly recommended by my teachers and caught my eye as they have a great skilful admin team, which was perfect as I want to work in accounts,” said Abigail.
Over the week, Abigail worked closely with the admin team, learning first-hand about stock control and the financial aspects of running a busy company. Her time at Wrights Roofing helped her develop a range of office-based skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.

“The staff have been very kind, welcoming and are patient when teaching me. I have gained quality experience and knowledge from them this week and have learnt lots of valuable skills in finance and stock control. I am so grateful for the help they have given me ready for my future career.”

Harvey Considers a Future in Roofing

Harvey Burgin, another student from Park View Academy, spent his week exploring the practical side of the business and getting a feel for life in the roofing industry. The experience gave him clarity about his future – and opened the door to a potential apprenticeship.

“I found the whole experience really helpful in deciding on a future career,” Harvey shared. “Roofing is now something I’m seriously considering, and I’m definitely keeping in touch to see if I can become an apprentice at Wrights Roofing.”

A Commitment to Future Talent

The team at Wrights Roofing were pleased to offer the placements and support the students’ development. Encouraging young people to explore different roles within the industry remains a key priority for the company.
